Biography
Bérénice is a French dancer currently working at the Theater Regensburg in Germany.
She studied at Rosella Hightower dance school in Cannes and later on she moved to Switzerland, where she graduated with a bachelor of Arts in contemporary dance at the Zürich University of the Arts. In Zurich she will have the chance to collaborate with choreographers such as Tarek Assam, Olga Labovkina, Antonio Ruz, Estefania Miranda, Darrel Toulon, Neel Verdoorn and Karin Hermès. Bérénice took part in the Gala Dance Meeting in Lucca, Italy and the TanzArt Ostwest Festival in Giessen, Germany to present Nadav Zelner’s piece, ‘Woodstock’.
To support her studies and later her apprenticeship at the Theater St.Gallen, Bérénice was chosen by the Artistic Foundation, Pierino Ambrosoli to receive a scholarship. In 2019 she will present her solo work ‘Filiae Maestae’ at the Theaterhaus Gessnerallee in Zürich. Bérénice won the award for the Best Bachelor Project at Zurich University of the Arts for her short film ‘In(de)finite’ produced with Sami Charfeddine.
In 2019 Bérénice debuted her career at the Theater St.Gallen where she first started as an apprentice. She has worked with choreographers such as Kinsun Chan, Nadav Zelner, Dimi Kirilov and Ishan Rustem.
In 2022, she joined the dance company at the Theater Regensburg in Germany under the direction of Wagner Moreira. In the company she worked with various choreographers such as Thomas None, Hans Henning Paar and Sommer Ulrickson. In Regensburg, Bérénice Durozey starts presenting her own choreographic work during for dance Lab, the young choreographers evening of the company. In 2023 she choreographed a duet ‘Normal People’ and in may 2024 she presented her new piece ‘The Third Act’.
